JOB DESCRIPTION:
Support NPI, sustain, and customer support product development for the Access Control Electronics Market and responsible for Assigned Projects. Develop Electronics Architecture, schematics, test plans, and fabrication files regarding assigned projects. Work with operations/test engineering/manufacturing to ensure all DFX requirements are met. Execute design tasks including Altium schematic capture, directing PCB CAD activities, document and execute Engineering Test Plans. Generate technical documents using Visio, Word, Excel, etc. Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative products for the access control and security market. Work closely with both internal teams and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, design, execution, and test. developing mixed signal electronics designs and electro-mechanical solutions for the Premises Security Access Control market. Develop and document detailed market and electrical requirements documentation and product architecture. Design schematics and manage CAD activity using Altium design tools. Support NPI and Supply Chain activity from an Engineering support standpoint. Analyze component options and determine best options based on functionality, performance, and cost. Collaborate with Principal and Senior level Firmware Engineers detailing Electronics interfaces supporting Firmware development. Support UL, FCC, CE, and EU regulatory approval testing and issue mitigation for all assigned projects and designs. Collaborate with operations/test engineering/manufacturing to ensure all DFx requirements are met. Generate internal and external facing technical documents detailing product features and performance metrics using Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Analyze complex system-level issues, identify, and mitigate design flaws pre and post product deployment for all Access Control products. Telecommuting: Hybrid: in office 3 days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and Eight (8) years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Hardware Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Developing embedded mixed-signal printed circuit board solutions integrating SOC, DDR, non-volatile memory, and application-specific I/O; (2) Developing Embedded ARM/Cortex Microprocessor; (3) Developing M4/M33 Microcontroller-based solutions; (4) Developing High-Speed circuits including DDR memory solutions; (5) Documenting and executing Engineering Test Requirements; and (6) Designing ARM-based SOC solutions integrating DDR, eMMC, SPI, I2C, SDIO, RS485 and Ethernet.
