The Senior Civil Engineer is a member of our Civil Engineering design team and works alongside a group of individuals to provide engineering services to Sevan's clients. A design professional, accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for multi-site construction projects and supporting other team members in achieving team goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepares complete, accurate and code compliant construction documents.
- Provides technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
- Perform civil engineering design calculations and prepare engineering reports.
- Responsible for determining the appropriate site features and their design application.
- Responsible for maintaining project schedules, deadlines, and commitments for all projects.
- Coordinates work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
- Notifies supervisor of changes in project scope and advises if a change order proposal is needed.
- Possesses a working knowledge of engineering and building codes and ADA requirements.
- Conducts project due diligence with municipalities to determine local zoning, engineering, and building code requirements.
- Accountable for resolving plan review comments from code officials.
- Project liaison to code officials, outside consultants, suppliers, and contractors regarding questions to the construction documents.
- Oversees staff engineers, designers and / or CAD technicians.
- Complete technical applications and secure permits.
- Eligible for Designer of Record signing and sealing responsibilities, based on business need.
- Works with supervisor and peers to pursue professional development.
- Participates in the development and mentoring of junior members of the team.
- Participates in NCEES with the ability to be licensed in multiple states.
- Engages in personal and professional growth opportunities within Sevan.
- Accountable for timely completion of assigned projects.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision on complex and large scope projects.
- Represent the company at client project meetings. Visits project sites to verify scope, existing conditions and other related activities.
- Make public presentations as project representatives and owner’s representatives.
- Other duties as assigned.

The anticipated compensation range for the position is $115,000 - $125,000, based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, flexible paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and a matching 401K plan.
