Summary: The Superintendent works as part of a Construction Services team, managing the field operations for single or multiple medium-scale civil projects. The Superintendent acts in a supervisory role, overseeing the work of contractors and vendors on projects that are managed by Sevan Multi-Site Solutions. Required travel of 70%-90%.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and is responsible for all on jobsite activities including safety, schedule, cost and quality.
- Directly manages and monitors work in the field on medium-scale civil projects including coordinating and directing activities such as surveying, helical pile installation, concrete work, and drainage systems.
- Promotes Sevan safety culture: maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment. Ensures Sevans safety requirements are met, encouraging proactive safety practices, and rectifying job site hazards immediately.
- Understands Critical Path Management (CPM) scheduling and has the ability to create and maintain a CPM schedule.
- Ensures trade partner staffing levels are consistent to maintain project schedule.
- Completes quality inspections of trade partners and field personnel. Maintains an active deficiency report on open quality items.
- Plans, organizes, and hosts weekly foremen meetings.
- Proactively communicates project related issues directly with Project Manager, Project Executive, or Operations Director.
- Examines construction documentation including drawings, schedules, and scopes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Reviews bid results, specifications, test and progress reports, and other project information necessary to gain complete familiarity with the project.
- Confirms and verifies permitting requirements related to the project.
- Coordinates with local municipalities as required for any/all inspections.
- Collaborates with Project Manager on change orders and incorporates work into project schedule.
- Follows Sevans standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Prepares and provides daily and weekly status reports for projects utilizing Procore software.
- Proactively identifies and solves or elevates project issues related to cost, schedule, safety, or quality.
- Along with the Sevan Project Manager, represents the company in project meetings.
- Develops and maintains relationships with clients, potential clients, subcontractors and vendors to help develop new opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-year degree in an accredited construction related program or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated skills in on site construction management.
- Strong background in sitework and infrastructure.
- Experience in "at risk" projects preferred.
- Site Logistics: Procuring, qualifying and managing subcontractors and supply vendors, managing insurance requirements, creating and implementing a logistics and site management plan, preparing the site, and responding to extreme weather.
- Project controls, including change management, enforcing contractual terms, developing and managing a risk management plan, managing daily project reporting, managing and facilitating OAC project meetings.
- Scope Development: Conducting preconstruction site visits. Reading, understanding, and interpreting plans and specifications. Managing plan revisions and version control, reviewing and accepting shop drawings, managing on-site Redlines digitally, reviewing/managing clarifications, exclusions, and allowances, and maintaining document control.
- Project Schedule, including project schedule creation and maintenance, managing a 2-week look-ahead and establishing/managing Critical Path Logic.
- Establishing and implementing a quality management plan that includes knowledge of means and methods, scheduling and managing testing & inspections, review of submittals and mockups, conducting quality inspections and reporting, and determining critical quality control checks.
- Safety Management, including establishment/Implementation of a safety plan, conducting of safety reporting, conducting of Toolbox Talks, incident and near-miss reporting, and the completion of an OSHA 30 Certification.
- Project Closeout, including the conducting of punch walks, and managing punchout.

Pay & Benefits:
The anticipated compensation range for the position is $90,000 to $110,000, is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, flexible paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and a matching 401K plan.
Work Conditions & Travel:
This role requires travel with partners for extended periods in various geographies and demographic areas (urban, rural, etc.). Multi-shift work may often be required to accomplish work in active retail locations to meet aggressive schedules. Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to work with fluid schedules and working conditions. Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine. Involves movement between floors, and properties to facilitate work. Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
