You will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures and fixtures in residential buildings on base at Fort Johnson. This role will install cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation while also adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks and hinges. A successful laborer should be hardworking, reliable, and be detail oriented.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

You will be responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures and fixtures in residential buildings on base at Fort Johnson. This role will install cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation while also adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks and hinges. A successful laborer should be hardworking, reliable, and be detail oriented.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Inspect places and conduct general repairs or maintenance.
- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed
- Ability to erect scaffolding, fencing, and ladders
- Remove and properly dispose of debris and waste materials
- Digging trenches along with other site requirements
- Move materials and equipment to and from construction areas.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site, including all PPE requirements, and report violations immediately to management.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
- Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
- Report incidents immediately to safety, foreman, or project manager in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the company.
- Travel out of town to work on remote job sites as directed by management.
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Replace plumbing fixtures and light fixtures.
- Other duties as needed.
- High school diploma
- Proven experience as construction laborer
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
- Strong understanding of basic math.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel
- Construction Laborer pay range: $17.20 - $22 per hour
- Actual pay depends on education, experience, and performance
