Summary : We are hiring a skilled Electrician with advanced knowledge of various electrical techniques and is responsible for the layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining of various structures and fixtures in residential buildings at Fort Meade, MD. This role will install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
Ability to complete redline drawings.
Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
Inspect electrical components and circuit breakers.
Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using handtools and power tools.
Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E.
Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
Ability to bend and install EMT Conduit.
Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
Other duties as needed.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must possess a valid plumber's license as required by the state and / or jurisdiction where the work is performed.

Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent.

Proven experience as electrician, with hands-on experience in working with electrical materials and components.

Excellent understanding of electrical techniques and methods of installation and construction

Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).

Ability to read technical documents and drawings.

Punchlist experience.

Basic knowledge of construction scheduled with critical path items, job site management, general repairs / maintenance work, basic appliance and HVAC repair (replacing fixtures, installing parts), plumbing, and carpentry.

Completion of OSHA 10 or ability to complete.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel.

Enjoy dealing with people.

Willingness to do non-trade specific items.

A willingness to always follow safety guidelines.

Strong understanding of basic math.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.

Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing.

Pay & Benefits :

Electrician pay range : $25 - $32 per hour.

Actual pay depends on education, experience, and performance.
