A Line Cook at Seven Gables Inn in Clayton, MO, is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to the restaurant's recipes and standards. This role involves setting up and stocking food items, preparing ingredients, cooking dishes using various methods such as grilling, frying, and sautéing, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards. Line Cooks also collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities :
Food Preparation : Set up and stock food items and necessary supplies; prepare ingredients by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
Cooking : Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other methods to specified recipes and standards.
Sanitation : Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage; clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
Inventory Management : Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs.
Team Collaboration : Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
Qualifications :
Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role.
Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certificate preferred.
Ability to obtain Food Safety Certification within 3 months of hire.
