Job Summary
We are a gated community and seeking a dedicated and hardworking Maintenance Worker/Solid Waste Collector to join our team. The function of this position is two-fold: 1) the ideal candidate will perform some maintenance and repairs to preserve the appearance and integrity of our condominiums and 2) will be responsible to collect and dispose waste materials from residential properties and work efficiently in a team environment. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is a full-time position
Duties
- Accomplishes a variety of maintenance functions as directed by the Maintenance Manager to complete work orders.
- Must accurately record all time expended and all materials used on a work order form.
- May be required to assist in special projects with other departments, as necessary.
- Operates the trash train/vehicle.
- Collects trash from all the condominium buildings and picks up recyclable materials from each building and deposits them in appropriate containers.
- Picks up trash dumpster from various locations and transports to trash compactor.
- Operates trash compactor.
- Reports any problems with equipment or compactor to the Maintenance Manager.
- Repairs dumpster wheels.
- Keeps trash rooms neat and orderly.
- Performs routine inspection on trash train/vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.

Education/Experience
- Possess general maintenance background. Some experience in plumbing, sewage system, carpentry, painting stucco and drywall repair, concrete and asphalt work, guttering, screening, and roofing and carport installation required. Must have own hand tools.
- Previous experience in solid waste collection or similar roles is preferred.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English for clear understanding of instructions and safety protocols.
Physical/Emotional Demands
Strenuous indoor and outdoor labor required year-round. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate heaving equipment and power tools. Must be in good physical condition to perform daily tasks that require climbing, bending, stooping, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
