Seven Oaks Classical School is a public charter school that has grown steadily since it opened in 2016. The school now serves roughly 650 students in grades K-12.

POSITION TITLE: Lead Maintenance Technician
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain physical competence to turn, twist and bend as required to operate tools and equipment.
- Properly licensed to operate a vehicle.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds .
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be team-oriented.
- Must be able to work in a professional work environment.
- Prior maintenance experience and skills. 3-5 years preferred but not required.
- GED or High School diploma.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to process and complete required work orders.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule
REPORT TO: Operations Manager
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: At will employment. Salaried positions with full benefits offered. 90-day probationary period.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in maintaining school buildings and grounds in top condition.
- Assist in promoting the safety, health, and comfort of students, faculty and staff in school buildings and grounds.
- Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with:
- Construction, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- exterior and interior of buildings.
- school grounds.
- Move equipment and materials within and between school classrooms and wings.
- Work overtime when emergencies arise to prevent disruption of the school. Possible nights and weekends may be required.
- Provide custodial assistance only when necessary or directed by the Operations Manager.
- Observe school policies at all times.
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques.
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan and MSD policies.
- Assist with weather delays, snow removal and salting.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager, School Safety Officer or Administrative Staff.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attend meetings as requested by supervisors, managers, directors, or administration.
- Be respectful and courteous to parents, faculty, students and staff.
- Assist other areas when needed.
- Setting up for school events. (Possible evenings or weekends)
- Takes appropriate precautions in extreme weather conditions to ensure personal safety such as wearing appropriate clothing and taking appropriate water breaks.
- Dress and grooming should be appropriate.
- Read and respond to email and text in a timely manner.
- Complete all required training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Communicate expectations clearly to all employees, volunteers, vendors, and individuals needing guidance in matters related to building services.
- Oversee general building upkeep, cleaning, and sanitation; assess cleaning and maintenance needs and create and oversee schedules accordingly.
- Maintain inventory of needed tools and cleaning supplies; ensure safe store and use of chemicals and other cleaning supplies.
- Comply with all relevant laws, standards, and codes, to ensure a safe, secure, and accessible building, including OSHA and ADA; maintain all required documentation; schedule inspections, complete reports, and maintain logs as needed
- Serve as emergency contact for issues related to the facilities and grounds (e.g. water leak, activation of the security system).
- Setup and teardown for events or programs in the facility or grounds.
- Assist faculty and staff with moves within the building (except personal property).
- Coordinate receipt of large shipments with the School Office and Business Office. Deliver heavy items or packages to the proper place within the building.
