Job Summary
The Plant Operator is responsible for carrying out operations and maintenance task throughout facility. The Plant Operator must be adaptable to be assigned to a wide variety of tasks dependent on the immediate needs of the water plant. This may include recording data, various types of manual labor, working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment. The Plant Operator will work full-time hours with the ability to work varied shifts as needed (including emergency call-outs, overtime, nights, weekends, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Take company-provided training courses in environmental health and safety and comply with safe working practices.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, lubrication, and equipment servicing as required.
- Conduct washdowns, cleaning, and corrosion control as directed.
- Data collection and data entry.
- Load / Transfer / Batch chemicals into storage tanks using pumps and forklifts.
- Undertake mechanical repairs as directed.
- Report any improperly working equipment or unsafe situations to the supervisor or other designated people as appropriate.
- Create a safe work environment and maintain a clean site appearance.
- Be positive, pleasant to co-workers, and customer service oriented, and to the extent that there is normal contact with the customer, report any customer feedback.
