The typical work environment will be in the shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.

Detailed Description
- Assemble, disassemble, and inspect downhole tools to ensure they meet quality standards and operational requirements.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on tools, including cleaning, rethreading, polishing, and replacing worn or damaged components.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of components using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Maintain accurate records of tool inspections, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring traceability and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve tool performance issues.
- Prepare downhole tools for deployment, ensuring all components are correctly installed, calibrated, and tested.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and in compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of downhole tool components and report any shortages or discrepancies.
- Operate hoists, forklifts, and other shop equipment as needed to handle and transport heavy tools and components.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool performance, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency.
- Follow all company policies, quality standards, and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with precision tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with downhole tools and components, including their functions and applications in oil and gas drilling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment for inspection and quality assurance.
- Basic understanding of machining processes and welding techniques is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with tools or components.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, or oilfield services environment.
- Previous experience with downhole tools or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in an oil field environment.
- Certification or formal training in machining, welding, or mechanical assembly.
