Brief Description

The Technical Writer will work closely with the management team, the Operations Support teams, including the R&M shops to coordinate technical documents for R&M, production, quality assurance. This role requires expertise in technical editing, document library oversight and management. Writes technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. Checks documents for spelling, grammar, organization, consistency, and content.

The Technical Writer will report directly to the Quality Manager.

Detailed Description

• Accurately document manuals, SOPs and other related technical documents as required.
• Work with the management team and support teams to interview and work with internal subject matter experts to generate published content for consumption by internal and external users
• Conduct technical editing of assigned documents and other products to ensure adherence to quality and formatting standards
• Support the proper maintenance of records in appropriate systems
  
  

Job Requirements

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to organize content in an orderly and logical manner
• Competency in office computer, data analysis
• Ability to be proactive and lead initiatives
• Ability to prioritize, and work hard under pressure
• Ability to safely navigate on work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) including proper use of designated personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls
• Occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds. Exert 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects and materials
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years previous Technical Writing experience
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
• ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2 knowledge and experience
  
  

Additional Details

This position requires work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The Technical Writer will be regularly exposed to the typical conditions of the local area.
