What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Severance Dental?
Severance Dental is looking for a very special individual to join our team. We are looking for a dental assistant with 1 year of dental experience (including schooling), but we are willing to train the right candidate. Ideally our assistant is able to combine a positive, natural enthusiasm with a commitment to excellence, attention to detail and a genuine desire to make a difference in our patients’ lives, we’d love to hear from you. X-ray certificates are most ideal as well as any Invisalign experience!
We have a great schedule that consists of 4 day weeks with alternating 4 day weekends. One week is Monday- Thursday 8am-5pm with Friday off that week, the next week is Tuesday through Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1pm. We do not work weekends or nights! We have 4 paid holidays regardless of what day they fall on the calendar, or if the office is closed, multiple continuing education opportunities, and a fun positive environment.

Essential Duties:
· Records treatment information on the patient's chart
· Assists the doctor by passing instruments, aspirating intra‑oral fluids, mixing materials and medicaments during examinations or treatment.
· Provides customer service support to patients by escorting them to and from the treatment room and prepping them for care by the doctor.
· Takes radiographs as instructed by the doctor.
· Prepares all treatment rooms including, but not limited to, set-up, decontamination, sterilization of all instruments, cleaning and restocking.
· Reviews patient’s medical history, progress from the previous visit, and the scheduled treatment plan with each patient.
· Takes impressions for diagnostic and opposing models.
· Fabricate temporaries.
Knowledge/Skills:
· Ability to take radiographs, including FMX, Pano, anterior PA’s and intraoral photos.
· Knowledge of cross contamination and how to prevent it.
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations and changes.
· Computer proficiency, Dentrix, preferred.
· Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients.
· Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner.
· Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Ideally 1 year of dental assisting experience.
· Preferred experience with Dentrix Software
Special Requirements:
· Valid X-ray certificate
· CPR certificate

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
