Assistant Librarian - Long Term Substitute
Severn School seeks a long-term substitute for an Assistant Librarian position to support students
and faculty in grades 6-12.
Reporting to the Library Director, the Assistant Librarian will help ensure the library is a
welcoming, service-oriented place. In conjunction with other library staff, this temporary
employee will supervise a two-story library that is often bustling with students and faculty. This
individual will also assist with collection inventory, circulation, and student clubs.
This temporary position begins in late March 2025 and ends on June 6, 2025 (The actual dates
will be determined prior to hire.)
Qualifications (preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications) :
- Completed or current enrollment in an MILS / MLS program AND / OR previous experience working in a public library or school library
- Experience working with children and young adults
- Ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships with students and colleagues
- Appropriate technology skills to accomplish job responsibilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
