Forklift Operator

Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining an organized warehouse layout and transporting products to different locations.

• Ability to understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Responsibilities:

• Participates in the shipping, receiving, organizing, storing, and delivering of goods, including supplies, equipment, and food
• Drives forklift to transport orders and materials to designated sites
• Loads and unloads trucks for receiving stock and filling orders
• Participates with physical inventories and verifying stock
• General housekeeping of the warehouse to maintain a safe and sanitary work area
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient and effective work environment
• Other job duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• Forklift Certification required
• 1 -2 years of experience operating a forklift

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; and toxic or caustic chemicals
• The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock
• Hot or cold temperatures
• The noise level in the work environment is loud

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to stand for long periods
• The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or listen to other employees/line leaders/supervisor
