Job Title: Direct Support Professional
The role of a Direct Support Professional at Sevita involves providing care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a member of our team, you will work closely with these individuals to help them live independently and fulfill their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals in accordance with their service plans, promoting socialization, health maintenance, and skill or behavioral development.
- Assist with daily activities such as personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, and other essential tasks.
- Document progress and activity accurately, reviewing records and logs to stay informed about changes in service plans and maintaining confidentiality.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; six months of experience in human services is also beneficial.
- A valid driver's license in good standing and car registration and vehicle insurance if needed for transporting individuals receiving services.
- All state-required training and certification completed on time.
- Maintaining healthy and professional relationships with individuals, families, guardians, and case managers.
Physical Demands:
This role requires heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
