Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional is a full-time or part-time position, non-exempt and paid hourly. This role involves providing direct support within a single program or unit within a program, typically supporting 4-6 individuals in residential settings, or up to 10 individuals in periodic programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support or assistance in accordance with individual service or program plans.
- Assist with socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, and skill or behavioral development.
- Perform daily and seasonal housekeeping as directed, maintaining a neat, clean, and safe environment.
- Transport individuals into the community, driving safely and according to local laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Six months of experience in human services preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- All state-required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes.
