The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a crucial role within D&S Community Services, part of the Sevita family. This position provides community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, aiming to enable them to live well and have a fulfilling career. The DSP works closely with a mission-driven team to create meaningful relationships that motivate everyone involved. As a DSP, you will be responsible for providing direct support and assistance to individuals in residential settings or periodic programs, adhering to individual service plans. Your tasks may include socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, skill development, and behavioral support. You will also assist with daily activities such as personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, citizenship, and other essential life skills. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, six months of experience in human services, and valid driver's license in good standing. Blood Borne Pathogen Category: Job requires performance of duties that involve potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Physical Requirements: Heavy Work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
