Special Education Teacher

Our Special Education Teacher experiences:

• State of the art team teaching
• Small class size every day – groups of 6 or less
• Quality education services to children ages 5-18
• Daily access to Behavior Tech and Rehab Techs on campus
• Daily time blocks to complete all necessary documentation such as IEP due processes, services summaries, etc.
• Elimination of the usual Student Portfolio requirement
• Time to schedule parent-teacher conferences during the treatment review day
• Paraprofessional assistance for every class
• Collaborative teaching with an interprofessional team (i.e. speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavior coordinator, counselor, etc.)
• Continuous access to behavior intervention assistance

Duties may include:

• Coordinate carry-over strategies developed by the Pediatric team
• Attend weekly clinical team meetings
• Complete all necessary documentation such as service summaries, IEP docs, etc. in a thorough and timely manner
• Supervise and assist in the development and implementation of the education curriculum
• Develop methods for evaluating student progress
• Meet with parents and students to provide guidance and seek solutions to problems
• Implement the policy and procedure of the classroom environment
• Attend all mandatory program/company training

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Special Education along with Praxis Tests completion OR Master’s Degree in Special Education K-12
• One year of experience in classroom or tutorial settings; experience with special education preferred
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
• Commitment to the company’s mission and values

• A good listener with an ability to empathize while still providing guidance
