Summer Patient Registration / Support Specialist
Assignment Dates: May 1 – August 31st, 2025.
Wage: $20-25 per hour
Seward Community Health Center (SCHC) is seeking a seasonal Patient Registration and Support Specialist to help staff a team of three at our Mobile Clinic in beautiful Seward, Alaska.
No two days will be the same if you take this opportunity of a lifetime. You’ll spend 40 hours a week working at our brand new Mobile Clinic and help the team serving acute care needs from some of the 250,000 visitors that come to see Seward each Summer. Whether it’s checking in patients with fish hooks, or restocking the mobile clinic, no two days will be the same.
In your free time (no on-call hours here!) explore all Seward and Alaska has to offer. Camping, kayaking, pickle ball, boating, fishing, hiking, biking and 4-wheeling are just a few of the adventures to be had. Hiking trails are everywhere and we’re located next to Exit Glacier and Kenai National Fjords Park.
Hours are set to meet the needs of the community, tentatively Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, four days of 10-hour shifts, may include holidays.
Additional benefits a $500 end-of-season bonus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet, screen, and schedule acute needs patients with empathy and respect
- Facilitates accurate and complete collection of patient demographic information.
- Accurately perform registration and check-out to ensure patient workflow is optimized.
- Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation and compliance requirements.
- Negotiates payment from patients, helps them set up an agreeable payment plan or refers them to the O & E Coordinator for screening to determine eligibility for financial assistance.
- Ensures that cash is secured and deposited into safe at end of day.
- Participate in community outreach and education efforts as requested
- Communicate pertinent patient information to other members of the care team as needed, including referring them to the Clinic or Urgent Care if further needs are established
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA requirements
- Maintain the order, cleanliness, and stock of the mobile clinic as part of the team
- Perform other related duties including working at the Main Health Clinic, as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required
- Two years of customer service experience required
- Two years working experience in a medical setting preferred
- Two years of profession registration or front desk experience preferred
