Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500 students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.
Responsibilities
The Director of MLT and Faculty will actively engage a culturally diverse student body in the learning process through the use of effective teaching strategies to ensure quality instruction. The faculty will collect, document, and analyze assessment results in order to achieve course, program, and institutional learning outcomes. The faculty willingly participates in non-instructional activities such as quality academic advising, student recruitment, campus committee participation and professional and community service.
An earned master or doctoral degree. Must hold ASCP-BOC or ASCP BOC generalist certification as a medical laboratory scientist/medical technologist (bachelor’s level).
A minimum of three years of community college instruction in Medical Laboratory Science, curriculum development and assessment. Must possess a knowledge of educational methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures. Knowledge of MLT Program Accreditation, Assessment, and Credentialing required.
Salary/Benefits

- Provides oversight for selective admission, advising, enrollment, retention, graduation, and placement processes for MLT students.

- Participates in institutional advising, assessment, and accreditation
- Represents the college within the community through participation in various organizations and civic groups.
