!osition Summary:
- Under the general and direct supervision of the Activities Director and Director of Nursing
Assists the Activities Director in the planning, coordinating and implementation of Sewell Senior Citizen Center’s program activities and for assisting with meals, housekeeping, transport and documentation functions of the program
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand the needs of the elderly and, in particular, the needs of those with cognitive and physical impairments.
- Be sensitive to the needs of family caregivers.
- Make a commitment to cooperative performance to attain care, organization and programmatic objectives which may entail performing duties not included in this job description.
- Observation of each participant and immediately reporting any changes in their condition to the Activities Director and or the Director of Nursing.
- Implementation of all program activities including:
- Daily exercise to music, Active games
- Cognitively stimulating activities
- Table games Arts & Crafts
- Community entertainment
- Intergenerational programming
- Horticultural therapy Music therapy
- Parties & Holiday celebrations
- Cooking & Workshop activities
- Sensory stimulation
- Outings Shopping
- Religious programs
- Assisting and leading meal service.
- Daily straightening of the program areas and supply cabinets; kitchen area; kitchen cabinets and refrigerator.
- Documenting in ADL Book and other forms as required.
- Serving as transportation aide as necessary.
- Following proper infection control procedures.
- Assisting in emergencies as directed by the Activities Director and/or the Administrator.
- Attend staff meetings and Inservice as scheduled.
- Keeps attendance as directed for activities.
- Participation and follow through of Individual care plan as directed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Work Location: In person
