Description
Sewickley Academy is seeking to hire a Head Girls' Basketball Coach. The part-time is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to student-athletes and assistant coaches, as well as, providing an overall vision for the program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for basketball and a proven track record of coaching high school athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program for the Girls’ team
- Plan and conduct individual and team practices
- Plan, develop and implement competitive game strategies
- Collaborate with the sports performance staff to enhance the physical capabilities of all student-athletes
- Provide guidance to the administration on strategic scheduling
- Provide leadership to all members of the basketball program, including players, coaches, and staff
- Assist with the long-term planning for the boy’s basketball program by working with coaches at all levels
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship and teamwork
- Foster an environment that focuses on the academic mission of the institution
- Ensure compliance with all Academy, WPIAL, and PIAA policies and regulations
Requirements:
- Previous successful coaching experience at the high school varsity level or collegiate level
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture
- Proven ability to foster academic growth for all student-athletes
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid or the willingness to acquire these certifications
