Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and providing necessary support.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
- Assist with animal catheterization and provide support during veterinary critical care situations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning exam rooms.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices, including nutrition, dental health, and general wellness.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records while adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely while demonstrating knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal restraint is a must.
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is a plus.
- Experience or knowledge in veterinary critical care or as a veterinary technician is advantageous.
- Understanding of dental terminology related to animal health is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are essential.
