What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at SF Staffing Solutions?
The Quality Engineer's primary role is to drive quality improvement throughout the entire organization utilizing sound quality tools and statistical methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Administrative
Reviews and processes Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for all projects and runtime improvements.
Sets up the quality requirements in the system for inspection.
Reviews supplier PPAP and capability study information.
ISO Compliance
Performs internal audits to ensure compliance to ISO requirements and our Corporation goals.
Identifies and implements appropriate preventative and corrective actions along with root cause analysis and effectiveness review.
New Product Introduction
Coordinates and manages the QA section of the Product Realization Process.
Analyzes new and revised part introductions using statistical analysis.
Evaluates the conformity of the project to the PRP manual.
Reports item status to core teams and facilitate issue resolution.
Problem Solving and Quality Improvement :
Troubleshoots and resolves issues to improve Plant Quality
Utilizes concepts of probability and statistics and data analysis (SPC, DOE, process capability analysis) to make quality decisions.
Safety :
Performs all job functions is a safe manner and maintains safety awareness.
Reports known accidents, injuries and unsafe practices and / or conditions to supervisor.
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications :
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
One (1) year of experience in a Quality related function is required, three (3) to five (5) years of experience is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven track record of developing and implementing process improvements
Strong analytical problem solving skills.
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Statistical Analysis Software.
Physical Demands and / or Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, talk or hear. Must be able to lift and / or move 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs (assisted). Must be able to work under hot or cool and sometimes loud conditions, hearing protection may be required. Able to travel up to 5% to other Company locations.
