Job Summary
Senior Psychiatric Physician Specialists perform under the general direction of Medical Directors at assigned sites. Their key responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and providing psychiatric treatment for patients in intensive care management settings. They also participate in clinic quality improvement activities and serve as a liaison with community behavioral health providers and hospital-based psychiatric teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide psychiatric treatment for patients in an intensive care management setting.
- Participate in clinic quality improvement activities.
- Serve as a liaison with community behavioral health providers and hospital-based psychiatric teams.
- May supervise a section or unit of a larger medical facility or program.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.
- Successful completion of a residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association in a Psychiatric medical specialty area.
- Eligibility to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and/or other federal health care programs.
