Role and Responsibilities: The Database Administrator maintains the corporate database management systems and ensures the integrity and security of all corporate databases. *The career level will be aligned with the candidate’s experience and qualifications
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain all databases; ensure performance, recoverability and security.
- Ensure data standards according to database best practices.
- Maintain security within all of the Database environments.
- Use database utilities to administer database.
- Monitor, diagnose, and correct problems with the database.
- Make suggestions for improvements to programs for better database performance as needed.
- Supply additional technical support for the database and to others that require support.
- Assist in design reviews before, during and after a database system is created.
- Evaluate and install third party database software to determine its performance, functionality and usefulness in the SFB environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a computer or related field or combination of education and experience
- Entry level experience in SQL and SQL tuning
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in relational database design and implementation
- Must understand the basic concepts of a database, especially database design and structure
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to function effectively in the workplace as exhibited through ones integrity, courage to act and communication skills.
- Ability work with others effectively as exhibited through one's respect for people and commitment to teamwork.
