Job Title: Director of Nursing
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Schedule: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Description:
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead, manage, and supervise nursing staff (registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse aides, etc.).
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to maintain high standards of care.
- Ensure that nursing staff complies with healthcare regulations, protocols, and best practices.
- Coordinate and facilitate staff training and professional development.
- Quality Care & Patient Safety:
- Oversee patient care to ensure it meets organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Address patient care concerns and work with other healthcare professionals to implement care plans.
- Monitor and improve patient outcomes, focusing on safety, satisfaction, and quality.
- Budgeting & Resource Allocation:
- Manage the nursing department's budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet patient needs while controlling costs.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with other healthcare managers, physicians, and staff to provide integrated care.
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and senior management, ensuring open communication.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Prepare reports on nursing performance, patient care, and outcomes for senior management and regulatory agencies.
- Strategic Planning:
- Participate in strategic planning to enhance nursing services and overall facility operations.
- Evaluate and implement innovations in nursing care and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Typically requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN).
- Licensure: Active RN (Registered Nurse) license.
- Experience: Several years of nursing experience, with significant time spent in leadership or management roles.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of healthcare regulations and best practices.
