As we continue to grow, we seek a highly trained and compassionate Dental Anesthesiologist to support our dental teams in providing safe, effective, and comfortable sedation and anesthesia services.
Position Overview
The Dental Anesthesiologist will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort and safety during dental procedures. This individual will work closely with general dentists, specialists, and clinical teams to administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout their treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient medical histories to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
- Administer sedation and anesthesia services, including IV sedation and general anesthesia, as needed.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures, ensuring safety and rapid response to any complications.
- Educate patients and guardians about anesthesia options, risks, and post-operative care.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including ADA, OSHA, and state licensure requirements.
- Keep accurate records of anesthesia administration and patient responses.
- Collaborate with dentists, oral surgeons, and support staff to optimize patient care and workflow efficiency.
Education/ Experience
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
- Completion of a CODA-accredited dental anesthesiology residency program.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology (ADBA) preferred.
- Active state licensure to practice dentistry and provide anesthesia services.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Experience in outpatient dental anesthesia and/or hospital-based settings preferred.
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and clinical teams.
- Commitment to patient safety and high-quality clinical care.
Physical/ Environmental Requirements
- Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- This position will require sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, bending, and walking, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity for typing and using small hand tools.
- This position requires average to above average visual acuity and hearing.
- Must be able to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms, and clinical and administrative documents.
