As a leading human service agency, SGA offers free and comprehensive services to the most challenged and underserved communities in Chicago, suburban Cook County, Lake County and Will County. Cycle of Opportunity® programming focuses on parenting, early childhood education, education support, and workforce development. SGA is seeking a Marketing Communications Coordinator to work 22.5 - 25 hours per week in the Chicago Loop office, to help drive the organization’s mission forward.
Position Summary
The Marketing Communications Coordinator is a proactive self-starter reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications. This position is responsible for designing and developing print and digital marketing materials, managing promotional campaigns, crafting participant success stories, maintaining SGA’s digital presence, and supporting donor communications. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and project management skills who is passionate about storytelling and impactful communication.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and write visually compelling marketing materials such as flyers, newsletters, fundraising appeals, blogs, and social media, to enhance brand awareness and donor engagement
- Maintain all public facing digital properties including websites and social media channels
- Track and analyze data on website, social media, and campaign performance to optimize strategies
- Manage and maintain donor database records, ensuring data accuracy and timely acknowledgments
- Efficiently perform administrative duties as needed
- Fluent English communication skills required; Spanish language skills are a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 products, Adobe Create Suite, Canva, donor databases, project management, website management, and ability to quickly learn software/platforms
- Handles sensitive information with discretion
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and communications strategies, techniques, and best practices
- Highly effective verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills
- Strong copywriting, editing skills, and ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and platforms
- Sharp attention to detail
- Strategic thinker with a creative mindset, using data insights to inform marketing decisions
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Photography and/or video editing skills are a plus
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field, preferably in the nonprofit sector
