We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to lead our expanding utility and renewable project team. This role is ideal for a well-rounded Civil Engineer with a proven track record in utility and renewable energy projects, site development, grading and drainage, and foundation design. The Civil Engineering Manager will lead technical project execution, team development, and client engagement across complex infrastructure projects.

Pay: $120,000 to $150,000 depending on your skills and years of experience
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering projects from conceptual design to construction, ensuring projects meet regulatory compliance and environmental standards.
- Manage and contribute to the design of site layouts, grading, drainage, and concrete foundations; prepare and finalize reports, calculations, and construction documentation.
- Review and approve engineering documents, designs, and calculations, signing off as a licensed Professional Engineer to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Train, develop, and guide a team of up to 10 engineers and designers; foster a culture of professional growth, skill-building, and work-life balance.
- Assign tasks, monitor project workloads, and coordinate team resources to optimize productivity and meet project timelines.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, project updates, and consulting on project-specific solutions.
- Actively promote the company’s services to existing clients and pursue new business opportunities, supporting company growth in key markets.
- Ensure projects are completed on scope, within agreed timelines, and on budget; consistently manage and adjust project plans to achieve client satisfaction.
- Develop and track project budgets and schedules, implementing efficiencies to optimize resource use and ensure on-time delivery.
- Analyze project progress and outcomes; lead initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness across the team.
- Identify and mitigate health and safety risks; ensure compliance with safety regulations, providing training and resources to support a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with an NCEES record.
- 7 years of licensed civil engineering experience (10 years preferred) with demonstrated expertise in land development, site work, grading, drainage, and concrete foundation design.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and/or Land Development Desktop.
- Experience in electric utility or renewable energy projects is a plus, with a strong understanding of utility infrastructure requirements and best practices.
- Experience in project management, accounting and operational practices relevant to the engineering industry.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and interface effectively with clients, regulators, and team members.
