Our Accounting and Finance team is seeking a motivated and self-directed Accounting Manager to manage all the accounting transactions for our solar asset portfolios. This role will work across accounting, asset management, and finance departments to deliver portfolio financial statements, so a collaborative team spirit is crucial.
This position requires technical accounting skills in accordance with GAAP, multi-entity environments, and financial reporting, including audit and tax. The solar industry is exciting and fast-paced, requiring creative thinking and problem-solving skills to succeed. Successful delivery of this position will result in growth for both the individual and Pivot Energy.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The base salary range for this position is $75,000-$130,000 depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the company’s substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 30% of annual salary (prorated in the first year based on start date). Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the solar asset accounting team, ensuring compliance and overseeing the reporting processes for solar asset portfolios including Tax Equity Partnerships, and Tax Credit Seller portfolios
- Spearhead the month-end close process, including the review and approval of journal entries for all solar asset portfolios, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Maintain and reconcile each portfolio’s balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Lead the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant external financial reports for auditors, investors, and lenders
- Manage the annual tax return and tax provision preparation in collaboration with the external tax preparer and external tax provision preparer, respectively
- Work closely with external auditors, preparing and providing necessary documentation and support to ensure a smooth and timely audit process in collaboration with the Accounting Director
- Perform other accounting duties as required or assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7 years of professional experience in accounting and finance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership and supervisory abilities
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Sage Intacct or equivalent accounting software
- Must be detail-oriented with hands-on execution capability
- 2 years of energy industry experience
- Self-starter with strong self-motivation and a proven capacity to work in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment
- Prior experience in the solar industry and tax equity portfolios a plus
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct
- CPA license a plus
