Job Description : Job Description : Class B CDL Driver. This position is to fill in for a driver on medical leave, with the possibility of longer-term employment. The successful candidate will be integrated into our team and may have the opportunity for permanent placement.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Class B CDL Driver to join our team. This role involves operating a combination of flatbed and box trucks (26-foot stake body) with automatic transmission. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials, as well as loading and offloading tasks.
Key Responsibilities :
Driving : Operate flatbed and box trucks with automatic transmission.
Loading / Offloading : Handle materials by hand or using a forklift.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Must be 21 years or older!
All drivers must hold the required state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate and provide proof. All drivers must hold at a minimum a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
All drivers must have at least one (1) year of driving the class of vehicles they will be driving while assigned to
In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by branch management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operations.
Job Functions :
Deliver materials by the time scheduled by your supervisor.
Validate directions.
Loading and unloading of truck is required.
Ensure that material is properly secured and within weight limits.
Ensure delivery of ticket with material and obtain customer signature.
Communicate with your supervisor throughout the day.
Pick up customer returns and validate that product matches request for credit.
Pick up local-pickup purchase orders.
Secure and return packing list(s).
Verify all material has been unloaded and placed at the delivery site.
Verify the customers signature on the handheld device.
Print name next to signature if necessary.
Review delivered orders with the supervisor for completion, accuracy, and format.
Return all delivery ticket copies to warehouse and verify that none are missing.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.
Fuel the truck as necessary.
Report any vehicle problems, moving violations, accidents, and defects to the supervisor Compliance with company uniform policy.
Assist in warehouse as necessary.
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring quality customer service.
Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company.
Work overtime as needed.
