Payroll Analyst

Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Payroll Analyst to assist in processing retroactive wages following recent contract negotiations within our unionized Facilities department. This role involves analyzing historical payroll data, ensuring compliance with contract agreements, and conducting spreadsheet-based analysis to determine accurate retro pay for affected associates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze historical payroll data and wage rates.
• Interpret and apply contract terms related to employee wages.
• Process retroactive pay calculations for approximately 325-350 employees.
• Conduct spreadsheet analysis using advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
• Ensure accuracy through thorough checks and balances.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to clarify payroll discrepancies.
• Work independently while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business).
• Payroll experience preferred, particularly in unionized environments.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (advanced functions, data analysis, and automation).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to ask clarifying questions.
