SGI is accredited/certified by the Maryland Department of Health Of Hygiene. We are licensed to operate as a Home Health Care Residential Agency throughout the state of Maryland.
Duties:
- Measure and administer oral medicines to patients.
- Report any changes in patient’s physical condition, check and record patient’s temperature, pulse and respiration assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), which includes bathing, dressing and continence.
- Accompany patient to and from medical appointments and other activities and perform other related duties as required.
- Meet with the Registered Nurse Supervisor every 45 days to review the care of the patient and to make recommendations to improve the quality of care for the patient.
- Skills/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Work experience as a certified medication technician and aide to persons who are elderly or disabled.
- Effective spoken and written (English) communication skills, including the ability to follow spoken/written instructions and the ability to accurately record medical information and maintain related records.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with elderly/disabled patients and their family members, co-workers and other medical professionals and the general public, with special sensitivity towards the needs and priorities of elderly individuals.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift, move and assist patients as needed; assist patients into/out of vehicles; move/carry medical equipment or parcels; and perform other duties as listed above.
- Current Medication Technician Certification (CMT) issued by the MD State Board of Nursing
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
