Job Description
SGM is seeking a Civil Project Engineer III to join our Durango office! The ideal candidate has the desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado. Benefits may be prorated for part-time employees. This position will be posted until filled but no sooner than three days from now.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- May develop initial draft project scopes / budgets with significant input required from others.
- Assists with competitive proposal development.
- May lead proposal efforts for smaller projects.
- Often lead development of project calculations and deliverables.
- Manage scope, budget, schedule (with oversight) for small- / mid-sized projects or major tasks on large, multidisciplinary projects.
- Executes less defined technical and engineering tasks.
- Field work and CAD drafting responsibilities range from limited to extensive.
- May perform part-time construction inspection, and rarely full-time.
- Regular client interactions through projects.
- Often serve as day-to-day primary contact.
- Limited contact with client management staff and elected officials
- Pro-actively communicate with supervisor on professional development desires & needs.
- Actively participate in team endeavors, and possibly, SGM initiatives and committees.
- Provide informal mentoring to Engineer I, II and other junior staff members.
- May have a direct report.
- Help secure repeat clients through project performance. Help acquire new business by recognizing and communicating with supervisor about business opportunities through clients, projects, etc.
- Develop close working relationships with client staff. Assist with identifying new opportunities with existing clients.
- Participate in developing / implementing team business development plans and strategies. May participate in "thought leadership" activities.
