Schedule: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 0800-1630
Position Summary
Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and achieve mutual goals. Responsible for identifying patient/family needs and for coordinating supportive care and appropriate services in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care. Promotes the delivery of quality patient care to Oncology and Hematology patients through implementation of the nursing process for assigned patient population. Serves a resource for nurses and other health care providers. Monitors patient outcomes and resolves issues/problems that may develop in the implementation of care. Maintains an atmosphere which ensures SGMC’s values, goals, policies and procedures are consistently supported and enforced.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Works primarily in hospital setting, including clinical/patient care areas and office or meeting areas. Primarily daytime hours with flexibility required to meet needs of patient and clinic. Considerable walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (occasionally in excess of fifty (50) pounds). Mental effort required to assess, plan, and make or recommend decisions in complex environment. Likely to be exposed to blood/body fluid, including infectious diseases.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Current licensure as RN in Georgia required.
- BSN preferred
- Four years nursing experience required
- Experience with chemotherapy and interest in caring for Oncology/Hematology patients required.
- Flexible in work schedule, assignments, workloads.
- Skilled at setting priorities and utilizing problem solving techniques.
- Ability to analyze regulations, standards, clinical issues, and patient outcomes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and behavioral communication skills required.
- Excellent computer skills required.
- Ability to operate variety of office, educational, clinical and non-clinical equipment.
