Job Description:
- Under minimal supervision, the Principal Management Engineer performs project work of a complex nature. Project work may include technical analyses or may require facilitation of a large multi-disciplinary group of senior administrators and/or medical leaders.
- The Principal Consultant may work individually, as lead consultant of a project team, or in a consulting capacity for projects not directly assigned.
- Perform analyses related to area of technical expertise and may train other staff members in these areas.
- The Principal Management Engineer serves as a technical consultant to other Client s departments, prepares reports and recommendations for management, and coordinates implementation whenever possible.
- The Principal Management Engineer may supervise tasks of Consultants, Senior Consultants or Analysts. He/she communicates regularly with Senior Management on specific projects.
Education:
- Minimum of 5 years organizational performance improvement experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisor and/or consulting experience.
- Previous healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage large, complex, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to lead/provoke the thinking of senior level administrators and medical leadership.
- Strong leadership/mentoring skills applicable to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the System.
- Strong, growing base of analytical/technical, facilitative, and process improvement knowledge.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Sound decision-making skills.
- Proven project management skills.
- Strong diplomacy and collaboration skills.
- Lean, Six Sigma, and Supply Chain Management or equivalent industry training and experience preferred.
- Certification as a Malcolm Baldrige examiner a plus.
