Job Description:
- In this role, you will work with a Team Of Scientists & Engineers, using Internally Developed Simulation Tools to predict system level performance of novel products and prototypes. Analysis of the simulation results will be used to directly improve product/prototype performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Use Simulation Tools to Model End-To-End Performance Of Display Systems
- Report Analysis Of These Simulations To Establish Specifications For These Display Systems And Ensure A Successful Product
- Collaborate with the larger research team to explore concepts and drive system performance to create compelling experiences
Knowledge of Several Of The Following:
- LED, OLED, LCD, LCOS, DMD, etc. Based Displays, Display Metrology/Calibration,
- Image Signal Processing, Camera ISP, Display Pipeline Architecture, Digital Filters, Colorimetry, Color Space Conversions, Imaging Waveguides, Image Quality Metrics, Human Perception.
- Experience with Image Algorithm/ISP Development, Convolutions, Fourier Transforms.
- Deep experience in MATLAB.
- BS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Computer Science, Color Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work/education experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in the field of Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related degree, PhD preferred
- 5 years of experience in research or advanced display/camera development
Top Must-Have HARD Skills:
- Camera - Image Pipeline Design.
- Display - Image Pipeline Design.
- Tone Mapping and Gamut Mapping.
- General Background Image Signal Processing Or Digital Signal Processing.
- Experience with Optical or Distortion Correction, Color Imagery.
Good to have skills:
- NOT someone who can tune the image pipeline, but DESIGN.
- Understand what they are doing and why they are doing it.
- More than just tuning but Theory and Depth.
- Seeing projects through end to end.
- Systems level engineering.
