Role : Business Process Consultant
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Contract : 12 Months
Roles and Responsibilities
A. Deliverables the candidate will be responsible for producing may include but are not limited to:
I. Current (AS IS) business process and customer journey maps
II. SWOT Analysis
III. Requirements for Future (TO BE) business processes and customer journey maps
IV. Gap Analysis
V. Business Process Models (Diagram and Narrative)
VI. Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD)
VII. Data Dictionaries
VIII. Data Flow Diagrams
IX. User Stories
X. Acceptance Criteria
XI. Business Cases
XII. Test Plans
B. Communicate relevant information to project teams and stakeholders in a timely manner.
C. Facilitate meetings throughout the term of the contract. At a minimum, meeting responsibilities include
I. Proofread meeting documentation to ensure use of proper grammar and consistent font styles.
II. Attend the meetings in person and communicate with attendees in a clear, concise, and constructive manner.
III. Provide meeting documentation in the format designated or approved by the Contract Manager. IV. Make necessary meeting arrangements and create needed artifacts to fulfill meeting objectives.
V. Create a meeting agenda and send it to attendees in advance of the meeting.
VI. Keep meeting notes highlighting key action items and decisions and indicating clear due dates with any next steps needed. Send copies of the meeting notes to attendees within three (3) Business Days following the meeting.
D. Address project team conflict and communication problems proactively. E. Review required documentation evidencing the delivery for completeness and correctness before submitting it to the Project Team and Stakeholders. Obtain acceptance and approval of deliverables from the Contract Manager and appropriate Stakeholders
Skills Required
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with Department staff at various levels; A minimum of ten (10) years of IT business/industry work experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in performing business analyses on IT projects
A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing large software development programs/projects.
Experience in creating process model diagrams
Experience translating business requirements into use cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.
Skills Preferred
Skills and experience in conducting meetings with individuals and groups of people to discuss business processes.
The people involved may be at the manager level or end user level. People may be business-oriented or technical (IT) staff.
The candidate will be expected to be the lead in all meetings and discussions related to their analysis. Experience with Joint Application Development (JAD) techniques is beneficial
