This position will work on various OGC projects, in terms of data quality, interpretation and reporting, to ensure client expectations are met with respect to schedule and quality. The role encompasses a significant percentage of time interacting with both clients and vendors; participating in meetings and technical discussions to establish client requirements and vendor capabilities and offerings for laboratory and EPC services. This position will also require a significant percentage of time spent working with and inside SGS laboratories to facilitate new kinds of business which are strategic to the project groups pipeline. In addition to laboratory, client, and vendor service coordination, this role also includes the expectation that some sales activity will be involved in terms of letting new potential clients to SGS know of laboratory services along with other SGS OGC services. This position will activity support SGS HSE procedures/policies and Code of Integrity, by coordinating laboratory activities in a safe and environmentally sound manner.

- Provide technical support to laboratory services projects; providing internal and external consultation with employees and customers when assigned.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Laboratory Managers, Quality Assurance Chemists and Technicians to develop new laboratory methods in response to client needs.
- Coordination, development, analysis, and reporting of strategic laboratory testing programs.
- Work in partnership with other Laboratory personnel, and Business Development Representatives, to ensure customer satisfaction and that client deadlines are met.
- Plan and initiate procedures and systems to ensure continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and vendors.
- Projects business development - represent the OGC business to clients, develop business opportunities, prepare scopes of work, issue proposals and coordinate project acceptance and opening.
- Verify reports, certificates and invoices to send to the customers.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients by regular updates to help them meet their contractual needs and to advise them on SGS’ capabilities and limitations.
- Acts with professionalism at all times when representing the business to clients, peers and employees.
- Pursue opportunities to expand the company profile and clients relationship.
- Maintain a focus on health and safety.
- May be assigned to coordinate special or ad hoc projects.
- Extended hours may be required as well as travel to other SGS and client locations.
- A post-secondary education (three-year diploma) in a Science related program (Environmental Science, Chemistry or Geology,) (Required)
- A minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting (Required)
- Good knowledge and demonstrated application of best practices in laboratory and personnel management. (Required)
