Responsibilities
- Collects samples from products or raw materials being transferred to containers, vessels, barges, trucks, and/or rail.
- Ensures sample containers and related paperwork are labeled with identifying data, location of sample, date, and time of collection.
- Delivers samples to laboratory for analysis.
- Maintains all equipment and containers in organized and clean condition before and after use.
- Ensures personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times.
- Complies with local and federal safety processes and procedures.
Requirements
- No experience required, unless mandated by state law.
- May be required to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card).
- May be required to obtain 24-hour surface Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certificate, training available through SGS.
- Intermediate English language skills required (Advanced preferred).

Travel and Equipment
- Local day travel may be required; occasional overnight travel possible.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.
- This role may use sample prep equipment including Jaw Crusher, Bowl & Disc Pulverizing Mills, Pressure Filters, Riffle Splitters, Compressed Air, Hammer Mill Crushers, Ovens, Balances, and basic sampling tools.
Work Environment
- On call/flexible hourly schedule requires flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
- Position requires occasional overtime.
- Work near moving mechanical parts frequently.
