Job Overview
This is a unique construction surveying role as it is on a marine construction project. We are seeking a detail-oriented Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for using surveying equipment to collect topographic survey data. This role requires basic computer skills and previous experience (or the ability to learn) Trimble surveying software, such as Trimble Access or Trimble Siteworks. The Land Surveyor will collect survey data on the construction site and communicate with the general contractor on a daily basis. The candidate must be comfortable traversing uneven terrain in a variety of weather conditions. There is an on-site office when not actively surveying. Expected hours : 40-60 hours per week.
A typical day looks like :
- Arriving to the marina on time and riding the crew boat to the project area.
- Collecting topographic survey data using Trimble GPS equipment as the construction work progresses. Understanding the data and answering any questions from the construction crew.
- Regular communication with the construction crews throughout the day.
- There is an on-site field office with heating / AC - office work will include exporting and sending collected data and completing a daily report.
- Properly maintain and charge surveying equipment.
- Meet with on-site inspectors and answer basic questions about the ongoing work.
- Return to the marina on the crew boat.
