The IT Portfolio Manager serves as a strategic partner to senior IT leadership, ensuring that IT initiatives align with business objectives and deliver value to the organization.

Responsibilities of an IT Portfolio Manage include:

Strategic Planning:

1. 1. Define IT Portfolio Strategy: Develop and align the IT portfolio strategy with the overall business objectives and priorities
   2. Align Projects with Business Goals: Ensure that IT projects and initiatives within the portfolio are aligned with the strategic goals
   3. Develop Portfolio Roadmaps: Create and maintain portfolio roadmaps that outline the sequence and dependencies of projects, ensuring they contribute to the overall business strategy while effectively managing operational and security risks.

Project Portfolio Oversight:

1. 1. Prioritization and Decision-Making: Establish high quality oversight practices for projects and programs. Monitor governance processes for project prioritization and decision-making and propose improvements. Coach project and program managers when needed to improve or strengthen practices. Through strong communications, alignment and collaboration with business and IT stakeholders, ensure that projects are prioritized with consideration to organizational priorities, resource constraints, and risk management.
   2. Risk Management: Identify and manage risks associated with the IT portfolio, working to mitigate potential issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and security requirements.

Resource Management:

1. 1. Resource Allocation: Work with other IT Portfolio Managers/Analyst and Resource Managers to optimize the allocation of resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, across different projects within the IT portfolio.
   2. Capacity Planning: Collaborate with project managers, department heads and resource managers to ensure that the organization has the necessary capacity to execute and deliver projects on your Portfolio Roadmap successfully.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

1. 1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Define and monitor key performance indicators to assess the health and progress of projects within the portfolio.
   2. Reporting: Generate regular reports for senior leadership, stakeholders, and project teams, providing insights into the status, risks, and performance of the IT portfolio.

Stakeholder Engagement:

1. 1. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and team members. Provide updates on the status of projects, changes in priorities, and overall portfolio performance.
   2. Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with business units, IT teams, and other relevant stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure collaboration.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The IT Portfolio Manager is accountable for the delivery, monitoring, and execution of projects within the scope of assigned portfolio. This position oversees the management of the portfolio and partners with the project professionals, including Program and Project Managers, Portfolio Analysts, and leadership supporting the portfolios to ensure consistency with strategy, commitments, and goals to accelerate the achievement of business value. Portfolio Managers closely align with Portfolio Sponsors (business and technical leaders) to ensure goals and objectives of each project under the respective portfolio are met. Guides, advises, and directs innovative approaches and solutions within and across the enterprise to achieve desired business outcomes. Partners and consults with various business and technical executives and leaders to deliver iterative business value and achieve business strategies and objectives.

What you will need:

1. 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience
   2. 5 years of experience in IT project, program, or portfolio management/analysis
   3. 6 years of experience in a problem-solving function with cross-functional teams
   4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting/facilitating at the executive level
   5. Proficiency in Microsoft applications
   6. Strong research, analytical, planning, and organizational skills
   7. Customer-focused attitude and demonstrated success working proactively and efficiently to deliver results

Additional Preferred Skills:

1. 1. 5 of IT Program/Portfolio Management experience preferred.
   2. Demonstrated experience leading IT projects, programs, and/or portfolios within a financial services institution
   3. Knowledge of financial products and services, especially as it relates to various delivery channels preferred
   4. Knowledge of existing products, services, and overall operational guidelines
   5. Strong knowledge of business analytical practices and methodologies and process improvement methodologies, e.g., Lean or Six Sigma a plus
   6. PMP, PgMP, PfMP, and/or PMI-ACP Certifications
   7. PPM tool experience (Planview Portfolios)
