Merchandising Associate
REPORTS TO: Retail Store Manager
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday; 9:00am-6:00pm EST; some Saturdays are required

Summary: The Retail Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a vital role in the efficient operation of our Richmond Showroom, overseeing all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position includes tasks such as processing incoming and outgoing shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring accurate stock levels. The associate will also be responsible for retrieving and storing merchandise, often using a 12-foot ladder, and assembling products for display or customer orders. Additionally, they will assist customers by delivering merchandise to their vehicles and providing excellent customer service when needed. In this versatile role, the associate may also step in as a backup for merchandising and floor staff, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for all customers.
Job Requirements/Expectations:
- Support the sales staff, including greeting customers and assisting customers with merchandise, answering phones for stock checks.
- Responsible for assembling and merchandising new products on the floor.
- Receive, process, and log all incoming deliveries and transfers.
- Create, print, and label all items that are received or transferred into the store.
- Complete all necessary and required paperwork for items received or transferred into the store.
- Maintain physical inventory of all items while keeping stock at acceptable levels.
- Perform quality control checks on all items received or transferred into the store, as well as for all special orders to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain claims log to ensure all information is correct and up to date with an important level of accuracy.
- Assist with stocking, display, and cleaning duties to maintain the appearance of the showroom.
- Partner with other departments as necessary to complete required tasks or projects[JM1]
Qualifications:
- One year of prior Shipping, Receiving, Inventory, or Warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift a minimum of 50lbs independently.
- Ability to retrieve and store merchandise up to 20 pounds from a 12-foot ladder overhead.
- SAP/SAP Business or other ERP experience is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and ownership.
