Job Description

As a Senior Arcade Technician, your days will be active and varied installing, repairing and providing technical support for arcade games throughout the greater US. You’ll have the opportunity to install and support the arcade industry’s newest equipment with all travel related expenses and travel time paid. You’ll be able to apply what you’ve mastered in an arcade setting and take those acquired skills to a broad array of clients including family entertainment centers, bowling centers, movie theatres and other entertainment venues. At Shaffer, our service technicians build a strong sense of camaraderie with each other and take great pride in everything they do.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and repair of equipment at arcade centers throughout the US
  • Installation and configuration of card payment kiosks, POS terminals and card readers
  • Troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on existing arcade equipment
  • Provide post sale customer support and ongoing training
  • Interact with customers and other employees in a professional and courteous manner

Normal work hours are M-F 8-5 PM while in the office. Overtime likely when traveling.

Ability to travel up to a week, two times per month for the periodic installations across the U.S. (this is an estimate)

All expenses covered while traveling!

Competitive salary based on technical experience in the Arcade/Game Industry

Reporting office location preferred: Columbus, OH.

Position Requirements

  • Strong communicative skills including both verbal and written
  • Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment circuitry and mechanical assemblies
  • Computer repair knowledge with basic networking skills
  • Ability to follow manufacturers installation instructions and program settings.
  • Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work independently
  • Detail oriented

  • Lifting an average of 50 pounds
  • Twisting of body
  • Constant stooping and bending/squatting
  • Climbing ladders
  • Unloading equipment
  • Walking in and out of locations, as well as, in locations
