What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Bather/Groomer position at Shaggy Chic Grooming?
We are looking for a Dog Bather as well as reception. These positions are an integral part of Shaggy Chic providing high quality service for our furry community. It is a fasted pace , hard working, wet environment. We work hard, but we work as a team. Our love for animals is what makes what we do all worth it!
You will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the animals at our facility.
Responsibilities:
Handle general care tasks such as feeding and grooming of the animals
Assist in restraining dogs when necessary.
Bathe, dry, and brush dogs, among other grooming tasks. (Nail trims, ear cleaning, gland expression, etc)
Engage in play activities and exercise with the animals
Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Qualifications:
Previous experience in animal care or other related fields is a plus but not required.
Passion to help and treat animals
Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to react quickly and appropriately if/when needed
Eligibility Requirements: Good verbal and written communication skills. Good personal hygiene. Capable of working in a team environment. Open to learning our procedures and ways of grooming. A respect and appreciation of our pet customers. No medical or physical conditions which would prevent the successful completion of position duties including but not limited to lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for up to 5 hours at a time.
Dog Bather Duties: Bathe, brush & dry dogs of all breeds, sizes and coat conditions in a timely manner. Clean salon and equipment **Experience preferred but can teach someone eager to learn and work hard.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
