Shake Shack is a modern day "roadside" burger stand serving delicious classic burgers, fries, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine, and more. We are seeking hospitality minded, positive, and enthusiastic interns to join us in our 10-week hands on summer internship program!
Whether you know exactly which route you want to take in the hospitality industry, or are still trying to figure that out, our summer internship is the place for you to gain real-life restaurant leadership experience. Our interns will be supervising a team and learning all managerial responsibilities and functions that make our restaurant run smoothly. Shake Shack offers the “Shacksperience”: a clearly defined path to success for every employee who joins our company. Beginning as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park, Shake Shack was created by Danny Meyer, Founder and CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and best-selling author of Setting the Table. - Lead the day-to-day operational excellence of the Shack.
- Manage the flow of service to ensure the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, quality, and speed.
- Help build and lead high performing hourly Team Members.
- Complete operational support functions (i.e., Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with labor, EEO (Equal Employment Opportunities), Department of Health, etc.
- Working towards a Culinary/Hospitality management or Business Management degree or related field
- Current enrolled students entering their junior year or higher
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team leadership and food service experience preferred
