Pay Information: SHPL typically hires new staff in at the entry rate of the posted pay scale. Exceptions may be made for successful applicants who have significant (5 years) direct experience in the position at a level beyond what is expected of a new hire.
Shaker Heights Public Library is seeking a detail- and service-oriented Library Aide. Responsibilities include organizing and shelving the library's material in proper order, retrieving materials, assisting with processing items, directing and assisting customers, sorting, packing and unpacking routed material, and sorting the incoming mail.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent combination of training and experience, plus a minimum of one (1) years library or customer service experience, and familiarity with Windows based software required. Must be able to lift, retrieve and re-shelve library materials and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
Hours: Half-time, 20 hours per week. This position works a variety of daytime, evening and weekend hours.
