The Polisher I performs functions related to the finishing and polishing of medical grade implants and instruments.
The Polisher I is responsible for :
Essential Functions
Polisher I is responsible for the performance of the following essential functions required for the finishing of medical grade knee and hip implants and surgical instrument sets in accordance with documented procedures and using the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) :
Deburring : Wearing proper PPE. Grinding, Belting, filing, and other hand tools to remove burrs from edges of parts and establish our finish as required.
Polishing : Wearing proper PPE fully gowned and wearing a full hood. Buffing parts on a grinder using vegetable based polishing compound, cotton buffing wheels, and sisal buffing wheels.

Depending on task assignment, the physical demands described here may be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Percentage of time in essential function may depend on assignment of tasks :
- Walking and standing on hard surface while using tools or machinery.
- Sitting for periods of up to 2 hours.
- Bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up-to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to rotating and reciprocating parts.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Exposure to loud noises generated from manufacturing equipment.
- Using scalpels, Exacto knives and sharp tooling
