Job Summary:
The Helpdesk and Student Rostering Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the school’s IT ticket helpdesk and student information system (SIS) connections to district software, ensuring the accurate and timely entry of student data, schedules, and rosters.
This role involves maintaining and coordinating the IT ticketing system. Additionally, the administrator supports the rostering of students into courses and various online programs, troubleshooting data issues, coordinating with curriculum and software vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Helpdesk Management
- Administer and maintain technology helpdesk ensuring IT tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
- Data Management:
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of all student records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Support & Training:
- Serve as a liaison between teachers, counselors, and administration for rostering software.
- Data Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies or errors in the SIS.
- Communicate effectively with software vendors or internal IT teams for support as needed.
- Other Duties:
- Provide support to classroom teachers and students for technology helpdesk tickets as needed.
- Support new student enrollment and registration processes.
- Coordinate with district-level data management personnel when needed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, education administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in student information systems (SIS) management or a related administrative role in an educational environment.
- Experience with student rostering and data entry is highly preferred.
- Technical computer experience including some hardware knowledge preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in student information systems and other school administrative software.
- Strong understanding of data management, accuracy, and integrity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially and in compliance with privacy laws.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment:
- This position is typically based in an office environment within the school, with occasional interaction with students, staff, and administrators.
- Normal working hours, with occasional need for flexibility during peak periods (e.g., start of the school year).
